“I will have poetry in my life. And adventure. And love. Love above all. No – not the artful postures of love, not playful and poetical games of love for the amusement of an evening, but love that over-throws life. Unbiddable, ungovernable – like a riot in the heart, and nothing to be done, come ruin or rapture. Love – like there has never been in a play.” ~ Shakespeare in Love

i think life should be nothing more than a constant quest for the every day magical, the glimpses of beauty transcending the lackluster complacent. i believe i have a poet’s soul, piloted by skystrewn eyes and the trappings of romanticism that double as wings of fire for my journey through these days of gravity and windowed walls. these are my words, but so much more, for when words scale the walls of our minds and take leaps of faith into the great unknown they become doors, elusive portals beckoning others to “come and see” and enter new realms of the velvet unknown — another’s imagination, perhaps, or portraits of worlds we see only behind closed eyelids in the hours lost to subconsciousness.
so take me in, then; or leave me be, if so you please. i am no better or no worse for having made you privy to my thoughts (if that’s what my words do — for as we think, so should we write, no?). such is the mysterious allure of these lettered compilations: do i entice you to learn me more, or do you simply think i’ve lost my mind to the ramblings of the wild-hearted?
and therein lies the catch, loves. either way — whateverso you choose to believe of me, after gathering up these pieces i’ve so painstakingly chosen to bestow upon the world [such precius litterleaves of my soul] — i’ve already won. alluring or obscure, half-mad or utterly precise; you know me as i only ever desired to be — a faceless name, an identity void of all but one small word:
writer.
[caution: read at your own risk. i never promised you wouldn’t drown.]
